WeReload was one of the startups that participated in our program RubikEDU #8. Discover its story below.

First of all, we would like to know who’s behind the keyboard.

I’ve got a solid 20 years experience in Direct & Indirect Sales and Business Development, with over 7 years in the telecom sector.

Around 12 years back, my family and I made the bold move to leave Romania behind, and ever since, I’ve been carving out my niche in the telecom sector.

This experience allowed me to develop my professional skills, but it also shaped me into someone with a unique blend of experiences and perspectives. It’s given me a real insight into the market dynamics, which has been invaluable in shaping the growth of WeReload services.

Tell us more about your startup. 

At WeReload, our motto is simple: keeping people connected. In a constantly moving society, whether for migration, business, or leisure, WeReload ensures that people stay connected with their family, friends, and loved ones back home.

Through WeReload we facilitate:

  • Conduct national and international mobile top-up transactions
  • Purchase eSIM data plans

In essence, we provide services that cater to the essential needs of anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Additionally, we’re excited to share that we’re currently in the process of developing two other innovative service offerings, but we’ll delve into those details shortly. Stay tuned!

Do you already have a team supporting you?

We are a complex team that was created through professional interactions: from meetings during the faculty to those during the events we attended.

Marcel Istina brings over 15 years of invaluable expertise in Marketing and Business Analysis to the table.

Alex Terente boasts over 15 years of proficiency as a developer specializing in Web and Mobile applications. Flatter is his 2nd language

Andrei Beraru, with a wealth of over 15 years of experience in developing Web and Mobile applications, excels particularly in database management and API integration.

For a startup, many aspects contribute to success. Motivation and founder/market fit are among the key factors. Tell us what’s your “why”.

Why now, Why telecom, you might ask? Well, it’s simple. After years of gaining valuable experience across various companies, I believe that maybe it’s time to go into the entrepreneurial area.

Entrepreneurship in telecommunications has a great advantage: you have access to global markets. In an interconnected world, telecommunications companies can reach customers around the world and expand their businesses in a way that was not possible before the digital era.

Indeed, the telecom industry is a highly competitive and ever-evolving landscape. Succeeding in this field requires a deep understanding of communications technologies, market trends, and consumer demands. Otherwise, it is impossible to maintain a competitive advantage.

You were part of RubikEDU #8. Please share how the program has impacted your journey and what you appreciated the most.

When we decided to participate in RubikEDU, we were ready with the mobile app and launched on Android.

RubikEDU helped us to consolidate our knowledge base and confirm that we were heading in the right direction.

Fulfilling the feeling of belonging to a community is very important when developing a business. It entails an ongoing exchange of ideas and expertise that contributes significantly to professional growth. The people you meet and the experiences you participate in are all a must-have

What sets you apart from your competitors?

I wouldn’t have started this journey if I hadn’t relied on our experience, solid market knowledge, and passion for technology. It’s important that we develop this entire “starter pack” daily.

What are your plans for your startup in the next 6-12 months?

We’re happy to announce that we’re currently live on both Android and iOS platforms with our advanced MVP.

So, what’s next?

In the coming months, specifically in April through May 2024, we’re gearing up to release V2 of our platform, which will offer even more options and features for our customers.

Looking further ahead, in the third and fourth quarters of 2024, we will launch two new categories of services: Gift Cards and Gaming Vouchers. Stay tuned for more updates!

What are the biggest rewards of being a startup founder?

As a startup founder, the journey can be incredibly fulfilling. It’s a chance to transform your ideas into services and products not just for yourself, but for your community as well. Moreover, it offers the opportunity to maintain autonomy and independence from other factors of decision. In this situation, you are the one who forms and develops the team and the organizational culture.

It’s a journey that brings with it many challenges, but also the joy of overcoming them.

What about the biggest challenges?

The idea of challenge is so related to development that I don’t even perceive it as a threat. For any entrepreneur, the inclination towards growth is inherent, based on continuous learning and a proactive response to market or technological challenges

It’s perfectly normal to have challenges, just as it’s perfectly normal to be prepared to overcome them. How to do this? It’s not a universal recipe, but you can start by learning, studying, and monitoring the market, always keeping the desire for self-improvement

Why would you recommend others with a startup idea apply to our program?

Developing a startup isn’t without its challenges, but it can be a professionally fulfilling experience. While I may not be able to fully articulate the value proposition to all startup founders, I can certainly resonate with the journey they’ve embarked upon. Surely, like me, they went through all the stages of analysis and self-analysis and made this decision with genuine professional and personal values in mind. If I could tell them something, I would say: don’t forget the initial motivation and trust yourself.
