First of all, we would like to know who’s behind the keyboard.

I am Hana Cosic, founder and CEO of Amygdala Health. I am also a university professor of Economics and Finance and really passionate about solving real-world problems using the best of science and technology.

Tell us more about your startup. What problem do you solve? Who’s your audience?

Amygdala is a digital health programme for chronic heart diseases powered by behavioural science and data science. We help users make changes in their habits such as activity levels, diet and weight using behavioural science and a Nobel prize-winning approach.

What motivated you to create this startup? What’s your „why”?

Our founders are scientists who spent years in academia and were really inspired to use scientific findings to help people be healthier. We were doing experiments and had some great findings with behavioural interventions and wanted to use this to benefit the welfare of people with heart diseases.

How is your startup different from competitors?

We bring scientific methods to affect people’s behaviour and to intervene in their lifestyle. More importantly, we have a solution that builds a long-term lifestyle change. Also, we use a gender-based approach to build a lifestyle change for both women and men effectively.

Tell us more about your team.

We are a team of scientists and software developers who are really excited to help people be healthier. We have been successfully working over the past 5 years and we complement each other with our strengths and weaknesses.

What are your plans for your startup in the next 6-12 months?

We plan to expand our offer to more corporate clients, continue bringing long-term value to users, start testing the Gulf countries market, and close our seed round.
