21 Startups Have Begun their Scaling Process into the USA Market

December 15, 2023

We started December with a lot of energy and events. From December 4th to 6th, we organized the launch event of the 6th edition of our accelerator, Rubik Garage Scale to USA, in our hub. For three days, 21 startups with founders from 8 countries, aspiring to scale in the USA, joined us.

Alongside our strategic partnersFortech Investments, Google for Startups, WIT Angels Club, and AmCham Romania – 21 startups with founders from 8 countries have been selected in this cohort: Sessions, Rayscape, Bright Spaces, Nifty Learning, Veruvis, AI Driven Education (AIDE), FoodFix, Langly, KOTYS, Virbe, Spacer, Beesers, Soft Edge, iflows, Readmio, SkillBrain, Artivive, Knolyx, CodeWell, Atfield and VAUNT.

In total, the startups have already secured investments of approximately 30 million dollars and employ over 450 people, demonstrating traction and market validation. Their solutions span across verticals such as Edtech, Medtech, Communication, Proptech, Agritech, Insuretech, and Deeptech.

What Mentors Joined Us

It was a busy time with 20 one-on-one mentoring sessions for founders and 7 workshops led by mentors: Marius Istrate (Tech Angels Romania), Ruxandra Muys-Stoyan & Selena Stan (WIT Angels Club), Emanuel Martonca (Softfight), Manuel Cazac & Ioana Chilom (AmCham Romania), Alexandru Chifu & Alex Burciu (Fortech Investments), Loredana Niculae (NNC), Thea Gherdan, Sebastian Gabor & Ruxandra Pui (Digitail), Alex Gavril (Promocrat), Ciprian Harabagiu (Decalex Digital), Radu Mândru (FIDAS Coach).

Each workshop provided valuable insights and practical examples of the specific challenges that startups face when expanding into the most competitive market, the United States. Founders had the opportunity to explore topics related to startup development, from setting long-term goals to business management strategies for the US market, useful marketing tactics, and investor relations management strategies.

How Was the Bootcamp for the Founders and the Mentors

The pitching sessions were a challenge for some founders presenting for the first time, while for others, it was a learning session due to the feedback received.

Ayman Shabaro, founder Spacer, mentioned, “I really like the idea of networking. All the sessions provided are amazing; we got a lot of value from the mentors, from the place here in Piatra Neamt, and also the possibility of going in March to the USA.”

Thea Gherdan, one of the mentors, said, “My favorite moment has been the conversations that have taken place, especially after workshops, randomly being in the same space with these people, with these amazing companies.”

Community Feeling

Despite a packed schedule, we made sure the founders felt the warm community spirit we value so much, and that they had enough time for networking. And as Christmas is approaching, we organized a special moment of decorating together the Christmas tree, and not with any decorations, but with… our wishes. We asked all founders to pen their wishes, aspirations, and dreams for 2024.

The Scaling Journey Continues

In the next 3 months, Rubik Garage will support the startups in the cohort in the expansion process into the USA. Teams demonstrating the highest potential will participate in Demo Days and Immersion Week organized in Silicon Valley and Austin, Texas, during which they will connect with investors and industry leaders and participate in networking events. The program will bring together over 30 mentors with proven expertise in the American market.
